Decking Systems

 

This system is very similar to the floor. It would give similar noise reduction as in the floor test results. It is mainly used in apartments and is ideal for any situation where you do not want to pierce the surface or if you need to slot in insulation.

Where used

Used in Spencer Dock by SISK Builders and in the Marina Apartments by McNamara Builders in Athlone. Also used by numerous decking companies around Ireland.

Advantages

• Ideal for use on flat roofs, concrete, paving tarmac etc
• No piercing of base, deck can be left floating
• Easily levelled using EasyFix levellers
• Creates a moisture barrier between deck and surface
• Leaves an air gap to allow deck to “breathe”
• Decking system offers similar advantages as floor system
• Allow for around 7 batten fixers per m² (depends on weight of deck)
